Day 1: Arrival in Cusco

Welcome to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, we will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel in a private service with assistance.

In the afternoon, we begin our city tour of Cusco. Our first stop will be the Basilica Cathedral, the city’s main temple. We will continue the tour to the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha), which was built to worship the Sun God. Currently, part of the site serves as a convent called Santo Domingo. We will continue our tour to the outskirts of the city to visit the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuamán and its impressive stone buildings that reach a height of up to 9 meters. We will continue our tour to the Qenqo ceremonial center and Puka Pukara, ending in Tambomachay, where we will appreciate the Incas’ ingenious ability to manipulate water.

  • Night in Cusco.

Day 2: Excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas – with overnight stay (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Early morning pick-up from your hotel for our full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will visit the town of Pisac, known for its artisan market and Inca archaeological sites, including an irrigation system, an astronomical observatory, a sundial (Intiwatana), and terraces. Concluding the excursion, we will head to the town of Urubamba where we will enjoy a buffet lunch.

We will continue our tour toward Ollantaytambo, where we will visit its archaeological site, built during the Inca period as a fortified area that includes a temple, terraces, and an urban area. Two sectors can be distinguished: one linked to worship and religion; and the second complex dedicated to housing. Considered an important administrative center, it probably also served military functions, as evidenced by its walls and towers. After a visit to the archaeological complex, we will visit the site. Transfer to Ollantaytambo station.

  • Nightt in Aguas Calientes.

Day 3: Excursion to Machu Picchu (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Our staff will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. We will head to the bus station to take you to the entrance of the Inca citadel, Machu Picchu. The tour of the Inca citadel will be accompanied by a private guide, with whom you will explore one of the greatest expressions of Inca architecture, which, in addition to offering spectacular scenery, showcases an important biological diversity of endemic flora and fauna. At the end of the tour, and with time to take photos, we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes by bus to enjoy a delicious lunch. Finally, we will begin the return to Cusco by train.

Pick up from the train station to your hotel in Cusco.

  • Night in Cusco.

Day 4: Experiential Tourism in the Hormiguitas de Taucca Community – Maras Moray & Salineras (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Early in the morning, we begin our visit to the Hormiguitas de Taucca Community, a haven of ancestral traditions and warm Andean hospitality.

Upon arrival, we explore the quinoa fields, one of the most emblematic and valuable foods of the Andean region. Next, we immerse ourselves in the fascinating art of traditional weaving of chumpis, or sashes, used to fasten clothing at the waist. These traditional garments are used in Andean ceremonies and rituals. Learn firsthand about the secrets of the patterns and iconography that make these textiles unique. Enjoy a typical Andean lunch.

In the afternoon, we visit Moray, an experimental agricultural center of the Incas. This impressive site was used in ancient times to organically adapt various Andean crops to different conditions of humidity, temperature, soil pH, and altitude. Once the seeds were adapted, they were distributed to the villages for cultivation and production.

Our next stop is the colonial town of Maras, built on the foundations of an Inca settlement due to its strategic location for the control, management, and distribution of the salt extracted from the salt mines.

Finally, we arrive at the Maras Salt Mines, the largest salt flat in Cusco, composed of more than 4,000 pools filled with salt water from a natural spring. When the water evaporates, crystallized salt remains, enriched with minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, and copper, becoming a resource of great cultural and economic value. Return to Cusco.
